Romona Sertic RMT
After graduating from the 3 year/3000 hour program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2004, Romona opened the Pacific Coast Massage Therapy clinic in Ucluelet. She is registered with the Canadian College of Massage Therapy and is also a member of the Massage Therapists Association. Romona is always pursuing ways to continue her education in order to broaden her knowledge in this field.
Massage Therapy techniques she often uses are: Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue Trigger Point Release, Muscle Energy Techniques, Swedish Massage Techniques & Joint Mobilizations. These techniques can offer relief for many conditions such as
Headaches and migraines, Stress and muscle tension, Neck and back pain, Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, Whiplash, Muscle strains or tears, Repetitive strain, Athletic injuries, Frozen shoulder, Scar adhesions, Tendonitis, Sciatica
In her 7 years of clinical experience, Romona has had tremendous success with relieving symptoms from carpal tunnel syndrome, whiplash, overuse muscle injuries, rotator cuff dysfunctions, post injury/surgery rehabilitation, cervicogenic headaches and plantar fascitis. Scar tissue is another area that she has found very rewarding; having worked on many clients with post surgical scars she has witnessed remarkable gains in mobility, pliability and appearance.
Romona believes that each client should be treated in a unique way that is best suited to their lifestyle & symptoms. She encourages patients to become proactive in their own healthcare. By combining her massage treatments with appropriate remedial exercise, she further educates her patients on preventative measures, decreasing the risk of re-injury.
